Falken Tires

Falken Tires Corporation is a tire manufacture company in Japan. Falken tire brand was initially developed in 1983.As like any other Japanese company Falken started its operations in North America by 1985. By 1990 they established Falken Tyre Corporation to strongly develop and market their tires through their subsidiary. By 996 they started selling their famous ZIEX ZE502 tires which was marketed as “youth” and “cool” .They later teamed up or rather they acquired Ohtsu and became a part of  Sumitomo Rubber Industries in 2003. At present, Later they paired with Dunlop Tyres and formed a new group named as Dunlop Falken Tires Ltd. Many major car companies like Daihatsu, Subaru, Suzuki takes the supply of tires from Falken Corporation.

Falken caters primarily on ultra-high-performance products, but it strategically uses professional motorsports to aggressively promote passenger car section products for worldwide distribution. Falken Tire Corporation has its base in Fontana, California, and this place acts as the Head Office for distribution. The company also has warehouses in Tennessee, New Jersey, and Texas. Falken has projects to build up its tire development to include all-terrain and wintertime performance.

Mainline Products

Falken boasts of a variety of tires, hinging upon the degree of performance the client desires. Its superior high-performance tires have speed ratings up to 300 kmph and can corroborate ABS brakes and active handling. Falken also deals with high-performance tires with belligerent performance configured to complement sedans, muscle cars and sports cars. Falken also sells tires for all types of weather conditions and special winter tires for fuller grip on the ground in snow and ice.

The ZE912 is one of Falken’s main products. It has a thread design that is innovative and is asymmetrical .An extra hard silica based compound and tough resistance pattern are the main features of the 6th largest tire manufacturer in the world. Latest technology and very competitive prices are the biggest USP’s for the Falken tires. Also the wide variety of models they it cater to i.e. from Mini cars to sports cars.

The mid range tires are the reasonably priced ones. In two years of driving around 50,000 kms the tires will only be marginally worn out. However Falken tires are slightly noisier than the other tires available in the market for this range of price. The ride handling of Falken tires are very well especially during cornering and are as good as better quality tires. But for situations where you need to move quickly, say from a signal point, the tires tend to lose their grip and the wheels begin to spin. On an overall basis these tires are good and wear out at a slow pace. Thus my verdict is that this is an ideal tire for a cost conscious person.

Falken tires are an excellent steal from the price it offers and other competitors may not be able to match the prices. But if cost is not an issue for you there are many more available in the market i.e. the ultra high premium brand performance tires.
